Jim Cason para alcalde de Coral Gables.

Dear Friends:

In less than 24 hours, Coral Gables, will be electing a new Mayor.  I would like to ask you to volunteer your time, money and vote to Jim Cason by visiting his website: www.votejimcason.com.  Let me explain why I think he deserves our support.
As a U.S. Ambassador and career diplomat, Mr. Cason has shown that government and efficiency can co-exist.  Specifically, as head of the US Interest Section in Havana, Mr. Cason, Mr. Cason decided, his tenure would not be business-as-usual.  He proactively devised means to further US interests and principles with the passion and creativity characteristic those who believe their life, legacy and honor depends on the means and ends of what they accomplish.  His level of entrepreneurship is much needed across all levels of American government. 
Moreover, the manner in which Mr. Cason has managed his campaign is in itself admirable. Instead of focusing on his opponents weaknesses, he has concentrated on his own strengths and more importantly on providing solutions.
Mr. Cason’s ability to understand government finances and his direct willingness to call out inefficiencies is refreshing. Specifically, Mr. Cason has specifically pointed out that Coral Gables spends twice as much on pensions as it does on infrastructure, had the second worst per-capita debt of any city in Florida, and has the practice of approving government contracts without requesting competing bids.  He has used his understanding of government finances to provided concrete specific plans to bring the city back to financial health.

    Felicidades al Sr. Cason, otrora diplomatico que goza de un especial respeto por parte de los cubanos dignos. Siempre se le recordara como el valiente amigo de la libertad en Cuba que supo ganarse el panico de Fidel Castro y sus acolitos denunciando los crimenes de esa dictadura en las propias madrigueras del cobarde tirano.

    Gano,finalmente. Tenemos al Cabo Cason de mayor de CG. Esperemos mejoren muchas cosas en la “garden city”. Una demostracion de la voluntad y el poder politico cubanoamericano en Miami Dade.
